Reflections Program
JOIN US FOR the 2011-12 REFLECTIONS PROGRAM!
Reflections is a national PTA program that encourages creativity in students of all ages. Each year there is a new theme around which students are asked to create a work of art in the categories of:
- Literature
- Visual Arts
- Photography
- Dance Choreography
- Film & Video
- Music Composition
Entries are judged first at the school level, then within Cluster 5, across the Northern Virginia District, in the state and finally at the national level. Each entry is judged on its creativity and how well it interprets the theme.
This year’s theme is “Diversity Is…”.
Detailed instructions for each arts discipline and the entry form can be found in the links below. Deadline for entries is October 31. There will be a box for entries in the main office closer to that date.
Last year, Boomya Pattan’s literature entry received first place in both Cluster Five and the Northern Virginia District and went on to be judged at the state level. Katy Maher’s music composition was first place in the Cluster and second place in the District. Linh Duong’s photography entry received the top honor in the Cluster.
We look forward to seeing what Lee students do this year! For more information contact Susan Maher at susansings@verizon.net or 703-408-5158.
